World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024

India is hosting the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024. The event will be held from 15-24 October 2024 preceded by the Global Standards Symposium (GSS) on 14 October 2024 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The event is expected to be inaugurated by Hon’ble PM on 15 October 2024. WTSA is held for International Telecommunication Union (ITU) members to refine the strategic direction of the ITU-Telecommunication Standardization (ITU-T) sector. The event is likely to be attended by 1800-2000 delegates from 193-member states, global standardization bodies and the telecom/ICT industry from across the globe. Hosting WTSA will provide India a prestegious platform to showcase its technological advancements through exhibitions, demonstrations, and related events.

Thus assembly aims to significantly ehance the standardization ecosystem in India across critical telecom and ICT areas such as 5G, 6G satellite communications, AI, loT, quantum technologies and cloud computing. It is for the first time that this event is being hosted in Asian continent.
