Mr. Ahmad Javed Ambassador Curriculum-Vitae Born on 2nd January, 1956 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ahmad Javed did his schooling from La Martiniere College, Lucknow and later Delhi Public School, New Delhi. He did his graduation in History (Hons.) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He joined the Indian Police Service in 1980 (Maharashtra Cadre). His service spanned over 35 years which saw him serve in various capacities including : 1. District Superintendent of Police, Buldana and Nanded 2. Deputation with Delhi City Police 3. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nashik City 4. Senior Directing Staff at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad 5. Commissioner of Police, Solapur City 6. Additional Commissioner of Police, Mumbai City (Central Region and South Region) 7. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) : Mumbai City 8. Additional General of Police, Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force 9. Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai 10. Director General of Police, Maharashtra HG & C.D. 11. Commissioner of Police, Mumbai City Shri Javed attended, inter-alia, the following international programmes : Attachment with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) at Vancouver, Canada Training of Trainers course at the Regent College, London Attachment with the Singapore Police Study tour with the N.Y.P.D & US Homeland Security Following medals were conferred on Shri Javed during his Service : I. The Police Medal for Meritorious Service II. The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service III. The Director General’s Insignia Shri Ahmad Javed was appointed as Ambassador of India to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 11th December 2015 and took charge w.e.f. AN of 17th February, 2016. He is married to Mrs Shabnam Javed and has two children, one son and one daughter. Shri Javed likes travelling, playing billiards, scuba diving and varied reading, especially history.
